Senior Infrastructure and Storage Engineer

POSITION SUMMARY

  • Assist with  the development of systems, policies, and procedures that allow ac3 to respond effectively to meet the needs of both customer and internal requirements
  • Coordinate the relevant activities to ensure that ac3 retains accreditation in identified areas
  • Assist in ensuring that ac3 provides quality service to clients and stakeholders

POSITION DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Day to day SAN storage systems management
  • Daily health check and maintenance of all SAN components to maximize availability and performance
  • Storage provisioning (SGI, Dell, EMC, HP and HDS) and decommissioning
  • FC Network management and iSCSI network management
  • Managing inventory and calculation of all storage allocation request and status
  • Provide inputs to monthly and ad hoc reports
  • Assist in analyzing, performance monitoring, tuning of the SAN performance, and storage capacity management including implementation of identifiable latest critical microcode / firmware / storage management tools update .
  • Assist in multipath configuration on different OS and platforms, Unix, Linux, Windows and virtual hosts environment: VMware, XEN, KVM etc.
  • Data protection with Storage level snap, mirroring, and replication technologies
  • DR and replication activities in conjunction with backup solution implemented
  • Assist administering of multiple backup solutions using EMC NetWorker, Commvault Sipana, Symantec NetBackup, and IBM Tivoli Storage Manager
  • Assist in Infrastructure Management, Blade environment and server clusteringAssist in Service monitoring
  • Coordinate with customer and/or other team members to determine requirements

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate at all levels (technical and non-technical) in both verbal and written communications
  • Excellent knowledge of HDS AMS and USP-V/VSP storage array architecture and deployment models. A knowledge of both the hardware and software stack is essential
  • Experience with SAN switching in an Enterprise-class environment, highly available SAN fabric
  • Experience in at least two other storage technologies, such as Netapp, EMC, 3Par and LSI
  • Knowledge of multiple O/S including Windows, Linux and Solaris
  • A strong knowledge of FC fabrics and multiple switch technologies
  • Experience working on iSCSI network
