The AIIA is Australia’s peak representative body and advocacy group for those in the digital ecosystem. The AIIA has established six State and Territory Councils to promote their programs, policies, interests and objectives. Council members are representatives from AIIA members who work on a voluntary basis to promote the Association and the ICT industry.

Being elected as a council member provides Kareroa with a fantastic opportunity to represent the interests of his customers. “The AIIA in New South Wales connects members to a network of local contacts, events, information and business opportunities. The NSW is a large branch with more than 130 members operating throughout the state.” Kareroa said.

“I am very excited about my appointment to the AIIA NSW Council as I feel that I bring a great deal of active expertise in respect to industry expectation of the Information Technology industry. With rapid innovation and a dynamic marketplace where new technologies and new companies are entering and driving customer expectations – this is exciting times and our industry needs to be on the front foot, ahead of the curve.

The AIIA membership expect the Council to represent their interests and be advocates for positive change where it is warranted. We must remember we represent the local industry and how we participate and work in the new world eco-system alongside major global service providers will be critical in the next 5-10 years. I am hands on, every day, working with customers across the Public Sector in ANZ and that gives me access to the evolving needs of industry users and how technology is unfolding for them. Spotting the common themes and natural connections; those are areas that interest me. I am looking forward to serving my community on the Council and am truly grateful to be trusted by the membership to deliver” Kareroa commented.
