The COVID-19 pandemic has shaken the world leading to anxiety and ambiguousness in people’s minds. It has changed our ways of working, our ways of connecting with each other and most importantly our ways of living.
At AC3, we believe our People are OUR business, they are the very foundation of our brand. It is very crucial for us to ensure that our people continue to stay healthy and engaged even during this time of crisis. We have never stopped providing a great work culture in 20 years of our business and we will never stop doing that.
To ensure that our employees’ mental health and wellness is not hampered, and they robustly cope with this crisis, we came up with the “Mindful in May” program. As the name suggests, it is about learning and practicing mindfulness and other types of meditations techniques to keep the ship sailing in this storm.
The purpose of this program is to help employees become more self-aware and poised individuals rather stressed and anxious beings.
We run this program through our slack channel #mindspace where we share a new guided meditation video every day. #mindspace is an open channel and can be joined by anyone in the company. The videos cover different topics each day like mindful eating, gratitude, walking meditation, grounding/earthing meditation, meditation on reducing stress, increasing productivity, affirmations to focus and many more.
Along with the videos, we share information on different types of meditation, new techniques to do meditation, and tips to implement the practice in a way that is powerful and impactful.
Mindful in May program is initiated with the aim to encourage people to dedicate their time towards selfcare. Selfcare is one of the ways to motivate oneself and others during this time of isolation. To keep the momentum of positive participation going we have posted about the program in different slack channel used companywide like #announce-culture.
The benefits of this initiative are numerous however there is one that outweighs all is to learn the skill of being balanced regardless of any situation and circumstances which is our mission for our people at AC3. We have seen increase in the number of people joining the #mindspace channel and this encourages us to come back with more of such employee engagement and wellness initiatives in coming months.
Mental health is one of the major concerns in this pandemic and at AC3 we make sure that our people are provided with the right kind of support and platforms to feel motivated and optimistic irrespective of the crazy times.
