Sydney, 11 May 2016 - The New South Wales Electoral Commission project, iVote at the 2015 NSW State General Election, won the top prize in the Service Delivery category at the Australian Government ICT awards.

The Awards recognise Excellence in eGovernment and was presented to Mr Mark Radcliffe, iVote Manager, during the Australian Award Ceremony at CeBIT last  week. Ms Linda Franklin, Acting Electoral Commissioner said “This award is a fabulous achievement and recognition of the great work on making iVote a highly successful voting channel for the State general election in 2015”.

iVote® is the remote electronic voting and verification system used during the NSW State General Election in 2015. A record 283,669 electors cast their vote through the iVote system, which put NSW at the forefront of online parliamentary election voting worldwide.

“Congratulations to the NSW Electoral Commission for this well-deserved win. It’s great to see NSW leading the way - using technology to overcome barriers to voting such as mobility and geography. ” said Simon Xistouris, CEO of AC3.

AC3 provided a robust, easily-accessible iVote Verification Service for the New South Wales Electoral Commission on this project. The system met stringent security protocols and was continuously available during the two-week voting window prior to the election.
